Lazio have opened talks with Celta Vigo for flexible midfielder Denis Suarez as they look to overhaul their midfield.
The Biancocelesti are preparing for the possible departure of either Luis Alberto or Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer and so they’re looking to sign a creative and adaptable player who can fill an important role in the midfield three. One player who has attracted Maurizio Sarri’s attention is Denis Suarez.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio have started talks with Celta Vigo for Denis Suarez, discussing the possibility of a deal and the costs associated with it.
The 28-year-old midfielder is contracted to Spanish side until 2024 and he currently earns around €2 million net per season. The Biancocelesti are ready to pay him more and are ready to offer a five-year contract.
The former Barcelona and Arsenal man is valued at around €10 million and Lazio would prefer to pay a lower fee. Celta Vigo are open to a sale but seem unlikely to accept a loan deal with a buy option or obligation to buy clause attached.

I’ll be honest, this deal doesn’t excite me too much. The prospect of replacing a top midfielder like Luis Alberto or Milinkovic-Savic with Suarez isn’t amazing and I think there’s a greater need for reinforcements in other areas, like a proper left back or a reliable back-up forward.
