Lazio are on the verge of completing the deal for Marcos Antonio, having exchanged documents with Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 21-year-old Brazilian will become the Biancocelesti’s first signing of the summer soon, being Maurizio Sarri’s first reinforcement. Marcos Antonio is a talented and tactically smart defensive midfielder with experience in the Champions League.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio are now preparing to welcome Marcos Antonio for around €8 million, having exchanged transfer documents with Shakhtar Donetsk. The medical examinations will be carried out at the Paideia clinic in Rome soon.
The 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder made 28 appearances across all competitions last season for Shakhtar, for a total of 1586 minutes. In that time, he scored three goals, provided one assist and proved his qualities as a defensive midfielder.
Sarri is likely to deploy the Brazilian in the anchoring role in his midfield three, deploying him in front of the backline, similar to how Lucas Leiva was used.
