Lazio have been keen to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek for a while but now they’re facing competition from Simone Inzaghi’s Inter.
Coach Maurizio Sarri has been keen to bring the 26-year-old Englishman to Rome since his arrival last summer and this year is no different, with the Italian coach hoping to sign the Chelsea man should Sergej Milinkovic-Savic be sold.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Inter are looking for a backup to Marcelo Brozovic and they’ve set their sights on Loftus-Cheek. Should Chelsea be willing to send him out on loan, a move becomes significantly more accessible for both the Nerazzurri and Lazio.
The English midfielder, who is contracted to the Blues until 2024, made 24 Premier League appearances this season under Thomas Tuchel, for a total of 1386 minutes. In that time, he provided three assists. With an estimated market value of €20 million, Loftus-Cheek would be a strong addition to Sarri’s Lazio squad this summer.
