Lazio Facing Competition From Milan & Napoli for Casale

Talks between Lazio and Hellas Verona regarding Nicolo Casale are back on track but competition from Milan and Napoli may become a cause for concern.

The Biancocelesti have been interested in the 24-year-old Italian defender for a number of months now, keen to make a move for him in January before deciding to return in the summer. Casale had a good season with the Gialloblu and seems to be a perfect fit for Maurizio Sarri’s system in Rome.

As reported by Tuttosport (via LazioNews24), Lazio’s talks with Verona for Casale are now back on track and they’re feeling confident as the summer transfer window approaches, although they’re keeping a wary eye on Milan and Napoli, who have both asked for information about the player.

Lazio are hoping that the excellent relationship between club presidents Claudio Lotito and Maurizio Setti will help facilitate a deal. The two parties also discussed Ivan Ilic and Giovanni Simeone, but it’s hard to imagine the Biancocelesti stumping up the cash for three key deals.
