Marcos Antonio will be Lazio’s first summer reinforcement in the coming days following a total agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder was one of the more exciting players in the Ukrainian squad, playing a key role as a defensive midfielder. The ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine put a total stop to football in the country and now foreign players are flocking away in the search of professional security.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio will pay Shakhtar €8 million plus around €1-2 million in add-ons for Marcos Antonio, investing in a player who’ll replace Lucas Leiva.

The 21-year-old Brazilian will be given a multi-year contract worth around €900,000 net per season plus add-ons linked to European qualification.

Marcos Antonio made 28 appearances across all competitions this season for Shakhtar, for a total of 1586 minutes. In that time, he scored three goals and provided one assist.
