Empoli have permanently signed Guglielmo Vicario and now they’re ready to hold a summer auction as Lazio, Napoli and Fiorentina all register interest.
The 25-year-old Italian shot stopper joined the Tuscan side last summer on loan from Cagliari and he quickly impressed, being a good shot stopper despite conceding 70 goals in 38 Serie A matches. Empoli permanently signed Vicario for €8 million from the Rossoblu and now they’re ready to sell him onwards immediately.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio, Fiorentina and Napoli are all keen to sign Vicario this summer and have registered their interest. Empoli are looking to sell the 25-year-old for around €11.5-12 million, an incredibly accessible price.
Looking at the stats, the 25-year-old Vicario did have an impressive season with the Tuscan side; for the 2021-22 season, the Italian shot stopper had a Post-Shot expected Goals – Goals Allowed (PSxG+/-GA) of +3.5, which suggests that he saved three more goals than he should have, based on the quality of shots faced.
