Lazio and Roma have both set their sights on Galatasaray talent Yunus Akgun, who impressed on loan with Adana Demirspor this season.

The 21-year-old Turkish forward has been followed by the Biancocelesti for years now, with a move being rumoured back in 2019. So far, Akgun is continuing to live up to his potential and now may be the perfect time for Lazio to pull the trigger on a deal.

As reported by Ensonhaber (via LazioNews24), Roma have recently approached Galatasaray to request information about Akgun, considering a move for the 21-year-old this summer. Lazio are keeping an eye on the situation and may look to pounce soon.

Rumours from Turkey suggest that sporting director Igli Tare is planning a trip to personally discuss the deal with Galatasaray, who value the talented winger at around €7 million.

This season, Akgun made 34 Super Lig appearances whilst on loan with Adana Demirspor, for a total of 2609 minutes. In that time, he scored eight goals and provided 11 assists.

Apollo’s Thoughts

Akgun could be the perfect low-cost addition to Maurizio Sarri’s squad this summer. The Turkish winger clearly has talent and he seems like he’d be a strong fit in the 4-3-3 system, possibly being the long-term heir to ageing Spanish veteran Pedro.
