Arsenal & Newcastle Both Set Sights on Milinkovic-Savic

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is wanted by Premier League sides Arsenal and Newcastle United, but he’s not particularly keen to make a move to either side.

Many expect Lazio to sell the 27-year-old Serbian midfielder this summer in order to fund their squad overhaul, but president Claudio Lotito has made it clear that Milinkovic-Savic isn’t transfer listed, so an offer of around €60-65 million is needed to even start negotiations.

Both Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United were heavily linked with Milinkovic-Savic over the last few months, but both clubs have backed off recently, focusing on other targets.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal have been fans of Milinkovic-Savic for a while now and they made an approach in May, interested in picking up the Lazio midfielder. They are seemingly willing to pay around €50 million and this figure could rise to close to €60 million.

The Saudi-backed Newcastle United are also keen to pick up the Serbian midfielder and rumours from England suggested that they were planning to offer around €80 million, but so far nothing concrete has arrived.

Milinkovic-Savic is not particularly interested in joining either Arsenal or Newcastle, and is only happy leaving Lazio if he’ll be moving to a top club competing in the Champions League.
