Lazio prospects Raul Moro and Luka Romero have been nominated for the Golden Boy 2022 award.
The award was established in 2003 by Tuttosport and involves voting from various journalists around Europe, looking to establish the most impressive young player in Europe in a calendar year. Previous winners include Pedri, Erling Haaland, Joao Felix and Matthijs de Ligt.
As announced in a statement, Lazio duo Raul Moro and Luka Romero have been included in the list of 100 candidates for the Golden Boy 2022 award. Whilst it’s fairly unlikely that either of the pair will win, with fellow candidates including Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, it’s still recognition of their talent.
Latest reports suggest that Luka Romero will remain part of Maurizio Sarri’s first team in Rome next season, and it’s likely that he’ll receive an increasing amount of playing time as he continues his development. It’s a different story for Raul Moro, who may be sent away on loan in order to receive more consistent minutes.
