Lazio are ready to submit a concrete offer for Santos prospect Pedrinho, who seems unlikely to pen a renewal with the club.
The 19-year-old Brazilian left back has caught the Biancocelesti’s eye after impressing with the Santos Under-20 squad, looking to be a talented and exciting teenager with bags of potential. His current deal with the Brazilian side expires in December 2021 and he’s able to sign a pre-contract with anyone from 1st July.
Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) reports that Lazio are incredibly keen to sign Pedrinho this summer, despite Santos’ attempts to tie him down to a new deal. The Roman club are preparing a three-year contract and it’s likely that a concrete offer will be submitted soon.
Interestingly, Francesco Totti’s agency asked for information about the player, suggesting that Lazio might be ahead of the curve for once.
Santos will launch one final attempt to tie Pedrinho down to a new contract but there’s a solid chance that the Biancocelesti could secure their man in the coming weeks.
Should Lazio sign Pedrinho this summer, it’s hard to imagine him becoming the team’s first choice left back next season, although it’s clear that someone needs to take over from a disappointing Elseid Hysaj.
