Romagnoli Waiting for Decisive Call From Lazio

Alessio Romagnoli only wants to join Lazio and he’s now waiting for the decisive call where a deal will be finalised.

The 27-year-old Italian centre back was recently approached by Fiorentina over a possible move, but he’s decided that he only wants to join the Biancocelesti this summer, the club he’s supported since he was a boy. The Roman club are desperate to pick him up and talks have been ongoing for a while now.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), talks between Lazio and Romagnoli’s entourage have finally started to progress and an agreement has reportedly been reached regarding his salary.

The latest reports suggested that Romagnoli asked for a salary of €3 million net per season plus add-ons, whilst the club preferred a deal worth €2.5 million net per year. It’s likely that an agreement has been reached somewhere in the middle.

Romagnoli is now waiting for Lazio to close out the deal, but first the club will have to sell Francesco Acerbi. The Italian centre back has three clubs keen to pick him up: Simone Inzaghi’s Inter, who want him should Milan Skriniar leave, Juventus, in case the Kalidou Koulibaly deal falls through, and finally the newly promoted Monza.

Updates are expected in the coming days, with Lazio desperate to bring Romagnoli along with them to the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore.
