Romagnoli a Step Away From Signing for Lazio After Months of Talks

Alessio Romagnoli is reportedly on the verge of joining Lazio after months of negotiations.

The 27-year-old Italian centre back is leaving Milan on a free transfer this month after seven years with the club. The Biancocelesti have been desperate to pick him up for a while now, keen to add the childhood Lazio fan to Maurizio Sarri’s squad in Rome.

Gianluigi Longari confirmed to The Italian Football Podcast that Romagnoli has been a concrete target for a while now and that talks between the parties have been ongoing for months.

A report from Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), details how Lazio are planning to close out the deal for Romagnoli in the first few days of July, regardless of whether or not Francesco Acerbi is sold.

A full agreement may have already been reached, but there have been no confirmations yet. In the last few days, the Italian centre back has turned down proposals from both Monza and Fiorentina, keen to join the club of his heart.
