Romagnoli Turns Down Premier League Offer in Bid to Join Lazio

Alessio Romagnoli rejected an approach from a Premier League club recently as he waits to sign for Lazio.

The Biancocelesti have been in talks with the 27-year-old Italian defender’s entourage for weeks now and they’re desperate to finalise a deal ahead of the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, which’ll kick off at the start of next month. Fans are excited to see Romagnoli, who is known to be a fan of Lazio.

As detailed by Alfredo Pedulla, Romagnoli only wants to sign for Lazio this summer and he’s recently turned down an offer from an unnamed Premier League club as he waits for things to be finalised with the Roman club.

It’s likely that the final agreement will see the Italian centre back given a contract worth €3.2 million net per season plus add-os, a little higher than the €2.8 million net per season figure that has been floating around lately.

It’s likely that Lazio will finalise things in the coming weeks, keen to provide coach Maurizio Sarri with a strong defensive reinforcement ahead of the pre-season preparations.

Romagnoli joined Milan in the summer of 2015 from Roma in a deal worth around €25 million. He ultimately made 247 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists. Despite being a product of the Giallorossi’s youth system, he’s been a fan of Lazio since childhood.
