Unneeded Lazio winger Bobby Adekanye is reportedly a step away from joining Eredivisie side Go Ahead Eagles.

The 23-year-old Dutch winger joined Serie B side Crotone on loan back in January but struggled to find success in the second tier, making only four league appearances for a total of 71 minutes. With his Lazio contract expiring next year, now is the perfect time for Bobby Adekanye to find a new home.

Rumours from Dutch football insiders (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) suggest that Adekanye is now on the verge of agreeing a move to Go Ahead Eagles. The Lazio winger posted a photo of himself on social media in the city of Deventer, home of the Eredivisie side, and he’s reportedly in town to negotiate a transfer.

No details or figures are known yet about a possible deal but it’s likely to be a low-cost operation, with Adekanye having an estimated market value of €350,000 and a contract expiring with Lazio next year.

The Dutch winger never settled in Rome following his free transfer from Liverpool back in 2019. All 15 of his Lazio appearances came in his debut season and he bounced from loan spell to loan spell following the 2019-20 season, spending time with Cadiz, ADO Den Haag and Crotone.
