Marcos Antonio, seen wearing a Lazio scarf, will now head to Formello for some rest ahead of the usual pre-transfer medical tests. It’s unclear if these will be carried out today or tomorrow at the Paideia clinic in Rome, but regardless the Brazilian midfielder will be the Biancocelesti’s first signing.

SportItalia filmed the arrival of Marcos Antonio this morning, showing him arriving at Fiumicino airport with all his baggage and a smile hidden under his mask.

Lazio are set to pay Shakhtar Donetsk around €8 million plus €1-2 million in add-ons for the 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder, giving him a multi-year contract worth around €900,000 net per season.

He will be the club’s first signing of the summer and is an exciting addition to Maurizio Sarri’s squad in Rome, being the long-term replacement for Lucas Leiva. Marcos Antonio has Champions League experience and is a talented midfielder with heaps of potential.
