The dates for Lazio’s two Derby della Capitale matches against Roma for the upcoming 2022-23 Serie A season have been announced.
The Rome derby is one of the most heated in world football, with the two fanbases often bitterly clashing in and outside the Stadio Olimpico on derby days. The derby is often considered to be the most important game of the season to both clubs and it could prove key in the race for Champions League qualification next campaign.
As announced by Lega Serie A, the first Derby della Capitale of the season will take place on 6th November, being the 13th match of the season. The return derby, in which Lazio will be hosts, will take place on 19th March, the 27th Serie A matchday of the season.
Last season, both Roman clubs picked up a victory of the Derby della Capitale; Lazio won the first meeting 3-2 in September, putting on a confident display early into the season. The second meeting went differently and Jose Mourinho’s side ultimately came out on top, securing a dominant 3-0 victory.
