Romagnoli Receives Tempting Offers From Aston Villa & Newcastle

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are threatening to upset Lazio’s work to sign Alessio Romagnoli, sending him convincing offers.

The 27-year-old Italian centre back’s contract with the Rossoneri will expire next week, allowing him to join his new club on a free transfer. He has been in talks with Lazio for months now but nothing has been finalised yet as the Biancocelesti work around limited resources.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Aston Villa and Newcastle have both made a move for Romagnoli in recent days, offering him a contract worth €4m net per season plus add-ons, significantly more than the €2.8m net per season offered by Lazio.

The Italian defender is tempted by a move to the Premier League but for now his love for Lazio is keeping him attached to the idea of playing under Maurizio Sarri in Rome.

The Biancocelesti cannot afford to waste any more time now as they genuinely risk missing out on Romagnoli, who is one of the fans’ most wanted players this summer.
