Lazio President Lotito Comments on Red Bull Takeover Rumours

By Apollo Heyes -

Lazio president Claudio Lotito denied rumours that Red Bull have submitted an offer to buy Lazio.

Rumours exploded on social media yesterday after reports suggested that the energy drink giants are keen to pick up the Biancocelesti to expand their football portfolio, taking a solid step in the Italian market. Many fans were excited about the prospect of a takeover, hoping for increased resources.

Speaking to Notizie (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lotito commented on the rumours that Red Bull are keen to purchase Lazio.

What? An offer from Red Bull for Lazio? It’s all rubbish. Absolute nonsense, leave it alone.

Lazio fans are growing increasingly frustrated with the club’s management as the summer transfer window approaches, concerned that a number of Maurizio Sarri’s targets haven’t arrived yet.

The club risk losing out on Alessio Romagnoli, with multiple Premier League clubs keen, and the deal for Marco Carnesecchi still hasn’t been finalised either.

Reports today suggested that there is serious tension between Sarri and sporting director Igli Tare, with the former worried about the lack of progress in the transfer window.
