Lazzari Could Be Used to Unblock Deal for Atalanta Prospect Carnesecchi

Lazio are having trouble securing a deal for Marco Carnesecchi and they could offer Manuel Lazzari to Atalanta in an attempt to get things across the line.

The Biancocelesti have identified the 21-year-old Italian shot-stopper as their top option to become the club’s new number one, appreciating his work on loan with Cremonese in the season just gone. Carnesecchi is an intelligent and brave goalkeeper with quick reactions and no fear of coming out of his box with the ball at his feet.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Atalanta want around €18 million for Carnesecchi and Lazio’s offer is still far from acceptable, around €12 million plus €3 million in add-ons.

The Biancocelesti could therefore look to include Lazzari in a possible deal; the 28-year-old Italian wing-back was approached by la Dea back in January and he seems like he’d be a strong fit for Gian Piero Gasperini’s system in Bergamo.

It’s unlikely that Maurizio Sarri would sign off on the move, however, as he’s a big fan of Lazzari, who massively developed over the course of last season.

  1. That would be a terrible idea, Lazzari is probably the most underrated rb in Italy and is also entering his prime, just move on from Carnesecchi if Atalanta don’t budge
