Lazio Agree Deal for Real Madrid Prospect Mario Gila

Reports from Spain suggest Lazio have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for talented defender Mario Gila.

The Biancocelesti know that the backline must be strengthened this summer following the departure of Luis Felipe and the likely sale of Francesco Acerbi, but they seem likely to miss out on key target Nicolo Casale, forcing their hand. Alessio Romagnoli is also close to agreeing a move to Rome.

As reported by Marca (via LazioNews24), Lazio have agreed to a deal with Real Madrid for the 21-year-old Mario Gila, who will join on a loan deal with a €5m buy option attached. No buy-back clause has been included, although Los Blancos will earn 50% on a future resale.

Things are reportedly in the final stages and he could arrive later this week or early next week, ready for the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore.

The Spanish defender spent the season just gone in the Real Madrid Castilla squad, scoring two goals and providing one assist in 32 league appearances.
