Despite the fact that Monza reached a total agreement with Hellas Verona for Nicolo Casale, they look set to miss out on the Italian defender.
Gianluca Di Marzio details how Silvio Berlusconi’s side sat down with the 24-year-old centre back’s entourage yesterday to discuss a move to the newly promoted side, who have already been very active this summer transfer window.
Things did not go well in the talks between Monza and Casale’s agents, however. Progress was minimal and now there’s a serious chance that the Lombardy club will miss out on the 24-year-old after all, despite reaching an agreement with the Gialloblu.
As such, both Lazio and Napoli are still in the race to sign the Italian defender, who seems like he’d be the perfect fit for Maurizio Sarri’s system in Rome.
Casale seems destined for a move to a top side this summer after a strong season in Verona, proving himself a confident and creative centre back who’s comfortable with the ball at his feet.
