Marcos Antonio has officially signed a five-year deal with Lazio after transferring from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The official announcement details how the Biancocelesti signed the 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder in a deal worth €8 million plus €2 million in add-ons from the Ukrainian side, whose future has been thrown in doubt as a result of the ongoing Russian invasion.
Marcos Antonio has signed a contract worth €900,000 plus add-ons, lasting until 2027. He’s expected to be the long term replacement for Lucas Leiva, who left the club on a free transfer today.
The Brazilian midfielder is a much anticipated addition to Maurizio Sarri’s squad in Rome and he appears to be the perfect fit, leaving fans excited to see what he can do in the Italian capital.
In his time with Shakhtar, Marcos Antonio made 101 appearances across all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing five assists. He has experience in the Champions League and stood out in a group stage win over Real Madrid.
