Fiorentina have come forward for Francesco Acerbi, keen to pick up the Lazio defender this summer.
The Biancocelesti are desperate to sell the 34-year-old Italian centre-back soon in order to unblock the Alessio Romagnoli deal; the former Milan captain can’t arrive until Acerbi departs, but interested clubs like Milan and Inter haven’t sent in a concrete offer yet.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Fiorentina have expressed their interest in Acerbi and requested information about a possible deal for the Lazio centre-back. No offer was made but that could change soon.
The Biancocelesti need to hurry up if they want to secure Romagnoli’s signature, as Fulham’s offer could finally tempt the Italian, so the Viola may be able to secure a discount on the deal if they move quickly.
Acerbi was always destined to leave Lazio this summer after falling out with the fans; he initially struggled to adapt to Maurizio Sarri’s system and his response to the criticism was a ‘shh’ celebration, something the fans never forgave him for.
We need to get him out so we can bring Romagnoli in so, Lotito get it done QUICK !
