Lazio are closing in on a deal for Mario Gila after reaching an agreement with Real Madrid.
The Biancocelesti have been in talks with the Spanish giants for a few weeks now, keen to add the 21-year-old Spanish centre back to Maurizio Sarri’s squad in Rome. Mario Gila impressed with the RM Castilla squad and many are excited to see what he can do with regular first team football.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio have agreed to pay Real Madrid around €6 million to sign Mario Gila in a definitive deal. It’s unclear at this stage if any clauses are included, but it was widely reported that the initial talks focused on a loan deal with a €5 million buy option attached that also continued a 25-50% future resale clause.
Sarri will be hoping to have Gila ready in time for the upcoming pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore. The Spaniard has the chance to become a regular starter in Rome alongside other target Nicolo Casale, although it’s hard to imagine him receiving consistent minutes should Alessio Romagnoli also arrive as well.
