Official: Patric Signs Five-Year Contract Renewal With Lazio

Patric Gil has officially signed a five-year contract renewal with Lazio, extending his stay in Rome until 2027.

The Spanish defender joined the Biancocelesti in the summer of 2015 from Barcelona in a deal worth around €500,000 and he’s remained in the Italian capital ever since. Patric has made 155 appearances across all competitions for Lazio over the last seven years, scoring three goals and providing six assists.

As announced by Lazio, Patric has extended his contract with the club for another five years, tying him to the Biancocelesti until 2027. He will earn around €1 million net per season plus add-ons.

Many fans grew increasingly unconvinced by the Spanish defender under previous coach Simone Inzaghi but the 29-year-old has turned things around under Maurizio Sarri, proving himself a tactically flexible and intelligent defender. He’ll continue to be an important squad player in Rome, reliably filling in where needed.

With Lazio, Patric has won two Supercoppa Italiana titles and one Coppa Italia, and also taken part in the Champions League.
