Club Brugge Open Talks With Lazio for Muriqi

Club Brugge are keen to pick up Vedat Muriqi this summer and they’ve started negotiations with Lazio.

The Biancocelesti have been looking for a new home for the 28-year-old Kosovan forward following his decent six-month loan spell with RCD Mallorca, where he scored four goals in 15 La Liga games. The Spanish side’s offer is far from acceptable, so a new club must be found.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Club Brugge have emerged for Muriqi and they’ve started talks with Lazio, looking to sign him on a definitive deal. The Belgian side may pay around €11 million for the Kosovan’s signature.

It’s clear that the 28-year-old will not be included in Maurizio Sarri’s project in Rome now, so a departure this summer is all but certain.

Muriqi joined Lazio in September 2020 from Fenerbahce in a deal worth around €20 million. Since his arrival, he’s made 49 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He failed to convince both Simone Inzaghi and Sarri over the last two years.
