Alessio Romagnoli has agreed to sign a five-year contract with Lazio and a transfer is now being finalised.
The Biancocelesti have been in talks with the 27-year-old Italian defender’s entourage for months now, incredibly keen to pick him up once his contract expired with Milan earlier this month. He is known to be a boyhood fan of the Roman club and it seemed like the perfect move for all parties.
As detailed by Gianluca Di Marzio, Alessio Romagnoli will sign a five-year contract with Lazio worth around €3 million net per season plus add-ons, with the bonuses being linked to winning the Scudetto and achieving European qualification. He’s expected to earn around €3.4 million net on average per campaign.
The final details are now being ironed out and Romagnoli’s medicals will be scheduled very soon, likely early next week.
The Italian centre back was also heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with both Aston Villa and Fulham keen to make a move for him, but in the end his heart was always set on his boyhood club.
