Romagnoli Back-Burners Fulham’s Tempting Offer to Join Lazio

Alessio Romagnoli has made up his mind and decided to sign for Lazio, turning down Fulham’s convincing offer.

The Biancocelesti have been on the verge of securing the 27-year-old’s signature for a few days now, staying in almost constant contact with his entourage. He’s ready to accept Lazio’s contract offer and the final details are now being agreed, namely agent commissions.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Romagnoli has put Fulham’s offer on the back burner as he waits to put pen to paper on Lazio’s offer. The Premier League side were ready to pay him around €4m net per season, significantly more than the Roman club, but his desire to play for his boyhood club ultimately made the difference.

The misunderstanding with president Claudio Lotito has been overcome recently, with Ciro Immobile playing a key role in the mediation; the Italian star is a close friend of Romagnoli and helped him make up his mind.

Things are expected to be formalised over the weekend, with Maurizio Sarri keen to start working with his new players.
