Lazio Furious With Club Brugge After Muriqi Clears Medicals

A twist has emerged in the collapsed move of Vedat Muriqi to Club Brugge after the Kosovan passed his medicals with Lazio yesterday.

The 28-year-old forward was on the verge of joining Club Brugge on a definitive transfer and he flew over to Belgium last week to take his medicals before completing a move.

Everything changed after the tests, however, and the Belgian side suddenly looked to change the formula of the transfer to a loan deal with a buy option attached instead, causing things to break down.

As reported by journalist Arlind Sadiku, Muriqi cleared his medicals with Lazio yesterday, suggesting that his physical condition wasn’t the cause of Club Brugge’s decision to change their transfer strategy.

He will return to the Belgian side in a few days in an attempt to complete the transfer still, and if Club Brugge continue to resist then they could be fined by FIFA. Claudio Lotito is furious at the situation and will likely push things as far as he can.
