Official: Alessio Romagnoli Signs Five-Year Contract With Lazio

Alessio Romagnoli has officially joined Lazio after signing a five-year contract with the Roman club.

The 27-year-old Italian centre-back left Milan earlier this month after his contract expired, ending a seven-year association with the Rossoneri. During his time in Lombardy, Romagnoli made 247 appearances across all competitions and he helped the team win both a Supercoppa Italiana and a Scudetto.

As announced by Lazio, Romagnoli has signed a five-year contract with the club, which contains an option for a sixth year. The Italian defender will reportedly be paid around €3 million net per season plus key add-ons and there have also been rumours that he’s been offered a role with the backroom staff at the club once he retires.

Romagnoli is known to be a boyhood Lazio fan and his support of the club was the key difference-maker in his decision to arrive this summer. It was widely reported that the 27-year-old had a number of offers from Premier League clubs including Fulham and Aston Villa, but he chose to stay in Italy.
