Mario Gila has officially signed a five-year contract with Lazio after joining on a definitive transfer from Real Madrid.
The 21-year-old Spanish defender is the latest signing by the Roman club this summer transfer window; he is a talented centre-back who will be hoping to break into Maurizio Sarri’s first team in the Italian capital in the upcoming campaign.
As confirmed by Lazio, Mario Gila has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the club, joining from Real Madrid in a deal worth around €6 million plus a future resale clause.
Gila joined Real Madrid’s youth system in the summer of 2018 from Espanyol and made 73 appearances for the Castilla squad, scoring five goals and providing three assists in that time. He also made two appearances for the first team under Carlo Ancelotti in the 2021-22 season.
The Spanish centre-back will be hoping to break into the Lazio first team in the upcoming season, but first, he will have to impress at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore.
