Luka Romero: ‘I’m Growing Day by Day Listening to Sarri’

Luka Romero underlined his happiness at Lazio and touched on his constant desire to improve after today’s pre-season training session in Auronzo di Cadore.

The 17-year-old Argentinian forward made his Serie A debut last campaign under Sarri and he went on to make eight league appearances, earning a few minutes here and there as he continues his development.

Luka Romero is considered by many to be one of the most exciting youngsters in Europe that’s still flying under the radar for the majority of fans.

Speaking to Lazio Style Radio (via LazioNews24), Luka Romero first discussed the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore.

The training camp is going well. I’m training very well. There’s a lot of desire to start the new season. I’m getting on very well with the guys here.

He touched on the work that the squad are carrying out under Sarri.

The training sessions are very hard physically, but we are accumulating energy for the coming season. Every day I train to the maximum because I always want to play and be ready when Sarri calls me in. I want to be ready.

The 17-year-old Argentinian talent commented on his objectives for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

I always try to train at my best. I really like the enthusiasm of the guys and I’m very happy with what’s happening. I thank the fans and the club, who are helping me grow.

My first year was positive and I’m happy with the opportunities I had last season. This year I want to play more and prove that I deserve the chances I’ve had.

Finally, Luka Romero discussed his goals with the Argentinian national team. He was recently called up to train with the first team, where he met Lionel Messi.

I hope to take part in the 2026 World Cup, but now I’m only thinking about Lazio. Sarri is helping me a lot, I feel that I’m growing day by day listening to the him and learning from the greatest.
