Napoli have seemingly decided to push for Francesco Acerbi as Kalidou Koulibaly prepares to sign for Chelsea.
The Partenopei have already been in talks with the 34-year-old Italian defender’s agent and personal terms were reportedly agreed, making the only obstacle now an agreement with Lazio. The Biancocelesti are ready to say goodbye to Acerbi, with Maurizio Sarri unconvinced about his qualities after a rough campaign.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), a conversation took place yesterday between Lazio and the player’s agent Federico Pastorello where it was made clear that Napoli would need to pay around €5 million to secure Acerbi this summer.
The Campania side are hoping to secure a small discount considering that personal terms have already been agreed and that Lazio are keen to sell. They’re also willing to make a move for Fenerbahce’s Kim Min-jae, but for now Acerbi seems to be the favourite for both his cost and experience.
