Sarri Continues to Push for Hellas Verona Talent Ilic

Maurizio Sarri is desperate for Lazio to sign Hellas Verona talent Ivan Ilic this summer.

The Biancocelesti coach is a huge fan of the 21-year-old Serbian midfielder and believes that he’d be the perfect signing regardless of whether Luis Alberto is sold or not. Ilic scored one goal and provided four assists in 32 Serie A appearances last season.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio president Claudio Lotito is working to try and secure Ilic this summer, although he’s hoping to pick up a discount on the €15-20 million valuation placed on him by Hellas Verona.

The Lazio president is hoping to take advantage of the excellent relationship between the two clubs as he looks to lower the fee; this summer, deals were completed for both Matteo Cancellieri and Nicolo Casale.

Ilic is a talented and creative midfielder who joined Hellas Verona from Manchester City’s youth system last summer in a deal worth €7.5 million, a sign of his high quality.
