Lazio picked up a 5-0 win in their second pre-season friendly against Slovenian side NK Dekani, but it wasn’t a match that could be described as comfortable despite the scoreline.
The Slovenian club, who finished 13th in last season’s second division, put up a strong fight in Auronzo di Cadore, keeping the pace high and playing physical. The Roman club seemed a little caught off guard by this and complained a number of times before Ciro Immobile finally opened the scoring after the half-hour mark.
Immobile missed a penalty in the 12th minute of the match but redeemed himself after netting the opener. Pedro was also a key figure in the win, playing with intensity and netting a brace.
Toma Basic and Mattia Zaccagni were on the scoresheet in the second half, closing out a tough and trying win for Lazio against Dekani. Mario Gila made his debut in the second half, playing alongside Francesco Acerbi. Luka Romero had a positive outing, entertaining the crowd as he continued to show his potential.
