Lazio Ready to Reward Zaccagni With New Contract

Mattia Zaccagni proved his qualities to Lazio last season and they’re ready to tie him down to a new contract.

The 27-year-old Italian forward joined the Biancocelesti last summer from Hellas Verona and he quickly settled in the Italian capital, becoming a regular feature under Maurizio Sarri. Zaccagni ultimately made 31 Serie A appearances last campaign, scoring six goals and providing six assists in that time.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio now consider Zaccagni to be a core part of the team and completely unsellable, so they want to tie him down to a new deal. His current contract expires in 2025 and the Roman club want to push that back to 2027 and increase his salary, rewarding him for a strong debut year.

Zaccagni is considered one of the main players in Sarri’s squad in Rome and the club want to treat him as such. He’ll be hoping to impress even more next season, especially now that he’ll have had a full pre-season under the Italian coach.
