Lazio trio Luka Romero, Raul Moro and Matteo Cancellieri have made the shortlist of the top 80 for the Golden Boy 2022 award.
Organised by Tuttosport, the award looks to find the most exciting player under the age of 21 active in one of Europe’s top leagues. Last year’s award was won by Barcelona’s Pedri. Being nominated for the award is a sign of the incredible potential a youngster holds.
As highlighted by LazioNews24, the Golden Boy 2022 shortlist has shrunk from 100 players to 80, and three Lazio players have still made the cut; Luka Romero, Raul Moro and new arrival Cancellieri are all still in the running, a sign of the bright things to come in Rome.
Whilst Moro is expected to leave Lazio on loan at some point this summer, both Romero and Cancellieri will be looking for some first team minutes under Maurizio Sarri in the upcoming season as they look to prove their mettle in Serie A.
