Lazio Re-Open Talks With Ex-Inter Midfielder Vecino

Lazio have re-ignited their interest in free agent Matias Vecino and new talks have been held between the parties.

The Biancocelesti have been keeping an eye on the Uruguayan midfielder for a little while now, with Maurizio Sarri remembering him well from their brief time together at Empoli, but things fell quiet back in May and a move looked unlikely.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio have decided to explore a move for Vecino again and they’ve re-opened talks with his entourage. The former Inter man could be the right low-cost option to complete Sarri’s midfield.

Vecino spent five years with Inter before leaving on a free transfer earlier this month. During his time in Lombardy, the Uruguayan midfielder made 126 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 7802 minutes. In that time, he scored 13 goals and provided seven assists, being a part of the team that won a Scudetto, a Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italiana.
