Lazio Enter Negotiations With Napoli for Monza Target Petagna

Lazio are trying to make a last minute move for Napoli forward Andrea Petagna, who is on the verge of completing a move to Monza.

The Biancocelesti have been looking for a reliable backup to Ciro Immobile for a long time now, with Maurizio Sarri remaining entirely unconvinced about Vedat Muriqi. Despite being linked with a long list of players, no centre forward has arrived yet this summer, but this could soon change.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Lazio have started talks with Napoli for Petagna, keen to make a move for the 27-year-old Italian. Monza have been in contact with the Partenopei for weeks regarding the striker but they’ve not managed to close out a deal yet, and now risk missing out.

Petagna is keen for a move away from Campania after a difficult season under Luciano Spalletti, where he only made four Serie A starts. In 32 appearances across all competitions, the Italian striker scored four goals and provided five assists.
