Ivan Provedel only wants to join Lazio but no agreement has been reached yet with Spezia as talks continue.
The Biancocelesti are looking to pick up a new second-string shot stopper and they’ve had their eye on the 28-year-old Italian for a little while now, believing he’d be the perfect partner for Luis Maximiano in Rome. Provedel had a good campaign last season with Spezia, proving his qualities between the sticks on a number of occasions.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio have offered Spezia €2 million for Provedel, who has one year left on his deal in Liguria. They’ve made it clear that they want around €5-6 million, having to pay around 50% of the eventual sale to Empoli.
The two parties have hit a stalemate and yesterday Provedel didn’t take part in Spezia’s pre-season friendly, suggesting that things could get tense.
Lazio are seemingly refusing to give up on Provedel and so updates are expected at some point next week, with less than a month left now until the Serie A season kicks off.
