Alessio Romagnoli impressed in his Lazio debut yesterday, playing a strong first half in the pre-season friendly against Triestina.
The 27-year-old Italian centre back signed for the Biancocelesti last week after months of negotiations, finally joining the club he’s supported since he was a boy. The fans were incredibly excited to welcome Romagnoli and there is much anticipation ahead of his first game at the Stadio Olimpico.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Romagnoli impressed playing alongside Patric in the backline yesterday, showing excellent character and leadership skills. He’s expected to be a pillar of the defence and so needs to quickly pick up Maurizio Sarri’s movements and tactics.
Things have started incredibly positive and both sides are confident that things will be comfortable ahead of the new season.
Romagnoli signed a five-year contract with Lazio and he’ll be hoping to follow in the footsteps of club legend Alessandro Nesta.
