Elseid Hysaj failed to convince Lazio in his debut season and he could leave this summer as Gennaro Gattuso’s Valencia register their interest.
The 28-year-old Albanian full back joined the Biancocelesti on a free transfer last summer after his contract expired with Napoli. He signed a four-year deal with the Roman club, but his first season was fairly disappointing, showing little of note.
As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Gattuso’s Valencia are keen to make a move for Hysaj and are planning to send in a concrete offer at some point this week.
The Italian coach remembers the Albanian full back well from their time together at Napoli and he could be a helpful low-cost reinforcement as he starts a new adventure in Spain.
Last season, Hysaj made made 38 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2609 minutes. In that time, he scored one goal, generally failing to produce much of anything and often losing his starting spot to Adam Marusic.
