Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of Destiny Udogie and Lazio have opened talks with Udinese to explore a possible move.
The Biancocelesti obviously need to sign a left back this summer, with the position currently occupied by the unconvincing Elseid Hysaj and the adapted Adam Marusic. Following an impressive summer transfer window, the only real weakness left in the squad now is that role.
As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Sarri is keeping an eye out for suitable candidates to fill the role and he’s keen to pick up Udogie, who impressed last season with Udinese. Lazio have now opened talks with the Friulian club to discuss the parameters of a possible deal.
Udinese made it clear that they value the 19-year-old Italian left back at around €20 million, a hefty sum for the Biancocelesti. Lazio looked to offer a loan deal with a buy option attached, but this was immediately rejected, forcing the club to consider offering a loan with an obligation to buy clause attached instead.
The talks are still at the early stages and no figures or other details have been discussed at this point, but things are expected to continue as Lazio look to make a couple more signings before the Serie A season kicks off.
