Lazio End Auronzo Pre-Season Retreat With 4-0 Win Over Primorje

Lazio closed out their pre-season retreat in Auronzo di Cadore with a comfortable 4-0 friendly win over Slovenian side Primorje.

Their opposition finished eighth in the Slovenian second division last season and are based in the idyllic mountain town of Ajdovščina. Pre-season friendlies are particularly important under Maurizio Sarri as he works to impose his detailed tactical vision on the players, something the new arrivals are rapidly working to catch up on.

It was a positive match for Lazio, who opened the scoring after 17 minutes thanks to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Less than five minutes later, Pedro doubled their lead, giving them a two-goal cushion at 21 minutes. In the second half, goals from Danilo Cataldi and Matteo Cancellieri closed out the victory.

New Lazio signings Luis Maximiano, Mario Gila, Alessio Romagnoli, Marcos Antonio and Cancellieri all got some more key minutes in their legs, but fellow new boy Nicolo Casale remained on the bench due to a slight injury.
