Lazio Ready to Close Four Deals but Must Sell Beforehand

Lazio are keen to close out four more deals this summer but first must sell a few redundant players.

The Biancocelesti have already made six signings this summer, picking up players like Alessio Romagnoli and Luis Maximiano, but are still looking to continue strengthening Maurizio Sarri’s squad as they look to close the gap to the top four teams.

Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) details how Lazio are ready to sign four more players but first need to thin out the squad a little, starting with either Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro or Sofian Kiyine, who’ll make space for free agent Matias Vecino.

The Biancocelesti want to pick up Ivan Ilic from Hellas Verona but first must sell Luis Alberto, which could happen soon as Sevilla are keen to bring him back to the Iberian peninsula. Lazio want at least around €22 million plus add-ons for the 29-year-old.

The third priority is a new left-back, and two candidates in particular are in the front-running for the time being: Cremonese’s Emanuele Valeri and Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri. The Roman club have made an approach on the former and have long been in talks for the latter. First, however, they’ll have to sell Elseid Hysaj, who could join the interested Valencia.

Finally, Lazio are working to sign a new backup goalkeeper and their main target now is Spezia’s Ivan Provedel. The club must wait for the Ligurians to sign his replacement, however.
