Valencia have reportedly submitted their first official bid for Lazio left back Elseid Hysaj.
The Albanian full back often failed to impress during his debut season with the Biancocelesti and quickly found Adam Marusic or Stefan Radu regularly starting in his place. Maurizio Sarri is keen to continue strengthening the squad and it’s clear that the left back role is one of the main weaknesses now.
As reported by La gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Valencia have offered Lazio around €3 million for Hysaj, €2 million below the Biancocelesti’s price tag. Talks are still ongoing and both parties are keen to agree a deal, with the departure of the Albanian making space for a replacement.
Gennaro Gattuso remembers Hysaj well from their time together at Napoli and he’s keen for a familiar face as he starts his new adventure in Spain.
Last season, Hysaj made 38 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2609 minutes. In that time, he scored one goal.
