Acerbi & Akpa Akpro Not Called Up for Lazio Retreat in Germany

Maurizio Sarri has decided not to call up Francesco Acerbi or Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro for Lazio’s upcoming pre-season retreat in Germany.

The Biancocelesti have returned after their short retreat in Auronzo di Cadore and after a few days’ break, they’re ready to kick off the second part of their usual pre-season preparations, ahead of their first game of the season against Bologna on 14th August.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Acerbi and Akpa Akpro have both seemingly been frozen out of the squad and weren’t called up for the five-day pre-season retreat in Germany. The pair will now train alone in Formello whilst awaiting news about their futures.

Lazio are hoping to sell Acerbi for around €4-5 million, with Inter reportedly mulling over a bid, whilst Akpa Akpro is hoping a club from abroad makes an offer.

The Roman club are working hard to try and close out these departures now, which could allow them to make a few more transfer market moves before the summer ends.
