Lazio have confirmed the details behind the deal that saw Marcos Antonio move from Shakhtar Donetsk to Rome.
The 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder was the Biancocelesti’s first signing of the summer transfer window and many fans are excited to see what he can bring to the team, being the long-term replacement for Lucas Leiva. Initial impressions of Marcos Antonio are incredibly positive and the deal already looks like a bargain.
As confirmed in a stock exchange statement (via LazioNews24), Lazio have agreed to pay Shakhtar Donetsk €7.5 million for Marcos Antonio, spread over three instalments. Additionally, €2 million in add-ons have been attached to the deal.
The Brazilian midfielder has signed a five-year contract with the Biancocelesti, which is understood to be worth around €1 million net per season plus add-ons.
The 22-year-old Marcos Antonio already started to impress Maurizio Sarri at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore and he looks set to shine in Serie A.
