Manchester United are prepared to make a move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic should they fail to secure a deal for Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong.
New coach Erik ten Hag has been working hard to improve the Red Devils since taking over recently and one area he’s looking to significantly strengthen is the midfield, with De Jong in particular being a favourite of his. The 25-year-old Dutchman doesn’t seem keen on the move, however.
As reported by Sky Sport Deutschland (via LazioNews24), one of Manchester United’s top alternatives for De Jong is Milinkovic-Savic, who was heavily linked with a move to the North West of England earlier this summer before things fell quiet.
One issue Ten Hag’s side may face is that the Serbian midfielder wants to play in the Champions League, a competition they’re not taking part in.
Lazio are open to selling Milinkovic-Savic but they’ve made it clear that a convincing offer will be needed, with no discounts being offered.
