Lazio Push Acerbi to Make Decision Amid Inter, Milan & Juventus Interest

Francesco Acerbi was not called up for Lazio’s pre-season retreat to Germany and they’re now pushing him to decide which club he wants to join.

The 34-year-old Italian centre back handed in a transfer request at the end of last season following an incredibly difficult 12 months, which saw his form drop after the switch to Maurizio Sarri’s system and his relationship with the fans collapse after a misguided celebration.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazio are keen for Acerbi to choose which club he wants to join and fast, ready to cut ties before the Serie A season kicks off.

The newly promoted Monza have backed out and are looking elsewhere and Torino’s approach was fairly timid. Juventus, Napoli, Inter and Milan are all still possible destinations as well, but Lazio’s request for €4-5m may push them to focus elsewhere.

Acerbi is keen to stay with a top club but he may be forced to accept a different destination should the major players remain distant.
